Assisted Combat Analysis

Updated August 24, 2026

Assisted Combat is Blizzard’s built-in World of Warcraft rotation helper. This analysis uses the live 12.1 priority data for all 40 specializations, then compares those lists with pinned SimulationCraft profiles and Icy Veins guides to show where the helper aligns—and where optimized play still adds decisions.

The core buttons are usually present. The optimized decisions are not.

Across the 32 specs with a comparable SimulationCraft profile, the median Blizzard action match is 86%i, while Blizzard represents 67%i of SimC actions. Spell selection is largely right; the material gap is build, timing, resource, targeting, and encounter logic. Pick a specialization below for its exact priority list, what SimC does that it doesn't, and how it compares with Icy Veins.

How to read this

Assisted Combat is a baseline recommendation system, not a complete raid, dungeon, healing, or mitigation plan. Tanks are mostly shown offensive priorities; healer tables are overwhelmingly damage-oriented. Comparisons use a 12.1/MID2 SimC profile where one existed in the research snapshot, otherwise the latest available Midnight profile.

Common omissions versus SimC

  • Talent and hero-tree-specific priorities
  • Separate single-target, cleave, and AoE rotations
  • Openers and cooldown synchronization
  • Resource pooling and overcap prevention
  • Proc, charge, stack, and previous-cast sequencing
  • Target selection, time-to-die, and incoming-add awareness
  • Movement and end-of-fight adjustments
  • Complete mitigation and defensive planning for tanks
